School is male-fyi. So when I said that school was over after summer school I was horribly wrong. I have even more schooling now. Just a quick look at all my academics...the rest of my Spanish course by Sat. (next week we need to order the other half of the course-to be finished before actual school), memorize maybe 100 lit. terms, read "A Mid-Summer Night's Dream," and do the classes for my jogging class. Whew! I shouldn't say that my life has been sucked away by homework, that wouldn't make sense since I have been gone the last two weeks on fun vacations and haven't really started up on the homework yet. Thanks to all my cute family in LV and UT for letting Mom and I and sometimes Dad a place to play and stay. I really loved seeing everyone.
This past week I was meeting people in Thatcher for EFY. There's a hick town if I've ever seen one. And if anyone is offended by me accusing it such, talk to my Thatcherian counselour who agrees. EFY was fantabulous! A completely different experience from last year. This year we got the "Disfunctional Family" award-last year we had spirit. Last year I needed to start some habits like reading my scriptures regularly, a habit I never had-this year because I was that much more prepared for the experience I was able to have 'strengthen my testimony moments' instead of focusing on the basic stuff.
My favorite part of EFY however would have to be when I found out that my friend Bekah Turley died. Wierd and kind of morbid sounding I know. A mom called a girl there who told some people who told us. I found out in an afterlunch class Independence day. My best friend Michelle cried her little face off and we just hugged and mopped up until we had to go to the next class. We had freetime right after that so we got the lowdown on the whole accident-the kids were going to Cali. for a vaca. and the sister was driving and took her eyes off the road. They were in Palm Springs and the wind and some overcreating sent the car into a roll. It was my favorite part because I was able to recieve answer to prayer and really feel comfort as me and Michelle cried, prayed together, and found scriptures that applied as well. I'm thankful for the plan and that me and my fam can be together forever.
One more side note-for 7-7-07 we had 7UP floats ("Make 7 up yours!") and Me and friends went to the midnight of Harry Potter 5. It was kind of dark but way good. There were some things that I missed...some flying brain action...the love thing between Tonks and Lupin...the room of requirement producing lots of pillows...little things that the movie didn't need so they left out. The only thing that I had to open my book at and yell "Wrong!" to was when Sirius dies...doesn't he fall half into the veil? Yeah turning goastlike and getting sucked in wasn't how I pictured it.
Loving your blog Maddi! Richie and I watched the news and laughed at all the nerds hanging out for the midnight showing of Harry Potter..... If only we would have known that you were one of the "nerds" maybe we wouldn't have laughed so hard. Keep up the hard work and spiritual growth! You are awesome!
